Non-Profit Organizations

This is a two-part workshop on Non-Profit Organizations (NPOs). The workshops are exciting and highly interactive.  You will work in small groups with other students to develop an action plan for a student led NPO.

Part 1:  Saturday, October 22

·        What is an NPO? What is an NGO?

·        Why are there Non-Profit Organizations?

·        What does “non-profit” really mean?

·        How to develop a “Mission” for an NPO.

·        How to develop a strategy to carry out the mission.

 Part 2:  Saturday, October 29
In the second workshop, participants will learn how to develop an “action plan” to carry out the mission and strategy of an NPO.

·        Learn how to develop a budget for an NPO’s mission and strategy

·        Learn how to undertake fundraising events to support an NPO’s mission and strategy.

·        Learn about job opportunities in the NPO sector!
